Jim Craig
Goalie for the Gold Medal Winning l980 Olympic Hockey Team
Jim Craig was winner of the Gold Medal in 1980 in US Olympic hockey. He is currently a motivational speaker and expert on the power of teamwork.
Craig was the lead goaltender for the 1980 United States' "Miracle on Ice" Olympic team. His 39 saves as goaltender led the U.S. team to a shocking 4-3 upset victory over the heavily favored Soviet Union in the semi-finals. His stellar play continued as Team USA beat Finland in the next game to capture the gold medal.

One of the most memorable Olympic moments from 1980 was that of Jim Craig wrapped in the American flag, looking into the stands at the Olympic hockey rink asking, "Where's my father?"

Craig played briefly in the NHL after the Olympics. However, repeated injuries kept Craig from finding success in the league. Played for three teams, the Atlanta Flames, the Boston Bruins, and the Minnesota North Stars before retiring from professional hockey in 1981.

Like fellow teammate, Mike Eruzione, Craig attended Boston University where he became an All-American goaltender.

Craig now lives in his hometown of North Easton, MA, the town in which he grew up. He is a successful consultant working for Valassis Communications and a tremendous motivational speaker.

Craig was with other members of the 1980 Gold Medal team to light the Olympic flame in Salt Lake City, Utah.
