Hams holds a master's degree in Organizational Development and Human Resources for the University of San Francisco, and is an adjunct professor at University of Phoenix, where he has taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He is past President of The American Society for Training and Development, Rocky Mountain Chapter, and active in the National Speakers Association.
