    Monte Coleman played for the Redskins for sixteen years, leading his team with contagious effort and motivation.

    On and off the field Monte is a true professional.  Giving back to the community is a priority in his life.  He spends a great deal of his free time sharing his Christian beliefs in fellowship with numerous youth and men organizations.   He has been the honorary chairmen of the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Virginia.  No player has done more to help childrens’ charities, including Toys for Tots, Childrens National Medical Center, The Boy Scouts, Metropolitan Police Boys and Girls Clubs, and United Cerebral Palsy, as well as Hexagon.

     

    Monte enjoys on-camera work and has co-hosted his own weekly TV show on Home Team Sports "National Defense", a celebrity guest on ESPN-Talk2, BET, PSA Commercials, and numerous featured guest spots on television and radio are among his professional credits.

     

    Monte was also the recipient of the All-Madden Team in 1993, and honored for his outstanding efforts as a professional athlete and an outstanding community leader at the "1995 Timmie Awards".  He was also elected and featured in the Washingtonian Magazine as a recipient of the Washingtonian of the Year Award in 1996.

     

    Monte was also inducted to the Arkansas Hall of Fame in 1998, Alluminist of the Year for University of Central Arkansas, and 2003 received honors as being one of the Redskins 70th Greatest Players.

     

    Monte was formerly employed with Data Distribution Service (DSS) as was the Vice President of Public Relations and Sales.

     

    Currently, Monte is employed at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff as a Linebacker Coach and Team Chaplain.  He is involved with the Juvenile Correction Center in Pine Bluff.  He is also speaks across the nation Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and has currently been selected to co-Chair the Majors City of Character Board.

     

    On a personal note, Monte resides in Pine Bluff, Arkansas with his wife Yvette and their three children.  When it is time to relax, Monte is an advate outdoorsman and enjoys the serenity of the sea with a fishing pole in hand!

     

    His delightful personality and quick wit make Monte Coleman a very popular celebrity guest and spokesperson.  Monte is a true gentlemen with a heart as big as his smile.
