Mel Blount, a legendary Pittsburgh Steeler and Hall of Famer, founded the Mel Blount Youth Home in 1983 in Vidalia Georgia. In 1989, he established the second Youth Home in Claysville, Pennsylvania.

The Mel Blount Youth Home is a nonprofit home for troubled boys ages seven through seventeen. The vision of creating a safe place of healing, hope security, and a place where boys can learn integrity and self-respect in continuing to become a reality.

The Mel Blount Youth Home is more dedicated then ever to the mission of helping disadvantaged youth become well-rounded productive citizens.
