As the former owner of three different businesses, including the largest number of Hertz Rent A Car franchises in the U.S., Mel Kleiman’s expertise is based on this personal experience as well as on his work over the past 25 years devoted exclusively to helping employers design the systems, processes, and tools needed to implement successful hiring and retention programs. He has worked with hundreds of clients, including some of the world's leading restaurant, retail, and franchise organizations, and he delivers over 50 high-impact, custom-designed presentations a year focused exclusively on employee recruiting, selection and retention.

Mel was awarded his Certified Speaking Professional designation in 1999 and has written five books, including the bestselling Hire Tough, Manage Easy,  267 Hire Tough Interview Questions, and Recruit Smarter, Not Harder. He has also written hundreds of articles for trade and professional journals and is a regular contributor to Restaurant Hospitality, Multiunit Franchise, and Convenience Store Decisions magazines. Mel serves as a board member for both the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and Deploy Solutions, Inc.
