Top Professional Poker Players

Howard Lederer has earned himself the name "The Professor" at the professional poker table. He has also made an educational video laying out the secrets of no limit hold em.

Chess was Howard Lederer’s first venture into competitive gaming, but it eventually led to his obsession with poker. In the mid-80’s, Howard was a regular at the No Limit Hold’em game at a highly regarded bridge and backgammon club in New York called the Mayfair club. This is where he honed his skills before moving to Vegas in 1993 to focus on cash games for roughly a decade. Not to be outdone, his sister also picked up serious poker along the way and in 1994, Howard and his sister, Anne Duke, became the first brother and sister to make the same final table at the World Series of Poker. Quite an amazing feat when you think about it.

Since 2002, Howard Lederer has been going full speed ahead on the tournament scene, as it has grown enormously in popularity. Today, he sits as one of the most consistent professional poker players in the world. His popularity has risen due to several appearances at the final table of the wildly popular World Poker Tour.
