Gary Hall, Jr. is a three-time Olympian and 10-time Olympic medalist. He won his second 50m free Olympic title at the 2004 Athens Games, where at 29 he became the oldest male in 80 years to win gold for the U.S. team. In 2008, Hall was ranked fourth in the United States and sixteenth in the world in swimming's "splash and dash".

Gary Hall, Jr. is known for his competitive edge, often flexing at big swim meets as an outward show of his confidence, but in 1999 he was put to an incredible test. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. At the time of his diagnosis he was told by doctors that he would never again be able to compete at the same level that saw him win four medals, including two gold, at the 1996 Olympics. Gary proved everyone wrong in a big way, winning his first individual gold by capturing the 50m free at the 2000 Olympics and doing it again in 2004. Today, through his foundation and sponsors, Mr. Hall serves as a powerful advocate for diabetes awareness, education and funding. Mr. Hall makes dozens of appearances each year sharing his message of hope and perseverance in the face of adversity. He has also testified in front of Congress advocating for more funding for diabetes research.
